No Bake Peanut Butter Dog Treat Recipe

Now that it’s starting to get warmer out, I’ve been on the hunt for a good no bake dog treat recipe. Who wants to turn on the oven when it’s sweltering out, right? Even if it’s not too hot out, sometimes you just want to whip up something fast for your pooch without spending an hour prepping and baking.

If you check out the ingredients, you’ll say that this is a relatively hypoallergenic dog treat recipe. Most dogs do pretty well with peanut butter and pumpkin. If your dog is sensitive to dairy or oats, then you’ll have an issue, but if they are mainly sensitive to meats and wheat (it’s rhyme time!), you’re in the clear. Don’t forget to print the recipe card below and watch the video tutorial.

Ingredients

Whip up a tasty snack for Fido without turning on the oven with our delicious no-bake peanut butter dog treat recipe! You'll love it too!

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (remember, NOT pumpkin pie mix, just the plain puree)
  •  1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup milk (doesn’t have to be whole milk, you can use whatever your family uses. We use 1%)
  • 3 cups old fashioned oats,

Instructions

Make sure to watch this video tutorial for a detailed recipe:

  • Beat the pumpkin puree, peanut butter and milk on medium-high in the bowl of an electric mixer . If you don’t have one, you can also use a plain old bowl and spatula; you’ll just have to work a little harder.
  • Gradually add 2 1/3 cups old fashioned oats. Make sure it is well mixed
  • Using a small scoop or spoon, roll the mixture into small balls. Roll the balls in the rest of oats.
  • Cover and place in the refrigerator for about an hour, or until they’re nice and firm.

Sounds pretty good, right? Go ahead and give it a taste, there’s nothing in it that’s particularly “dog food like” or gross to humans. Lately, we’ve been trying to share dog treat recipes that you can also eat. My favorite so far is our frozen peanut butter pup pops recipe because it’s just like that one-ingredient banana ice cream that’s so popular right now. Our very berry frozen dog treat is another that’s great for people.

No bake dog treats are my favorite kind to make because there’s far less of a chance that I’ll mess it up. It doesn’t get much easier than this recipe!

Do you have a favorite no bake dog treat recipe that you like to prepare for Fido? Tell me about it in the comments!
