6 Reasons You Hate Leaving Your Dog At Home

I can think of a million reasons why I hate leaving my dog at home, how about you? Sadly, one of the worst parts of having a dog is having to leave him behind while you go to work or head to the grocery store. Even if you’re going to be gone for just 30 minutes, it can be hard to leave your pup at home. We seriously wish it was acceptable to bring our dogs everywhere we go! Can you imagine how much more tolerable work would be if you could pet your pup throughout the day?! Here are 6 reasons why we all hate leaving our dog at home.

Reasons We Hate Leaving Our Dog at Home

1. They aren’t good at time

Dogs don’t understand time like we do, so when we leave them, they don’t know that you’ll only be gone for an hour. We feel bad leaving them for an entire work day but we can only hope that they spend their time relaxing and waiting for us to come back home!
2. You miss out on couch snuggles

It's been too long since I slowed down and just snuggled with my Honey 💛 #happydakota #newapt #settledin #slowdowntime #fridaynight #dogsnuggles

We all know that dogs spend a lot of their time snuggling and waiting for us to arrive. We’d all prefer to stay at home and snuggle on the couch than go out and do adult things.

3. You also miss out on midday naps

No one wants to miss out on midday naps, especially on those days when the weather is bad and you really just want to stay inside.
4. No one likes a sad dog

This is the face da hoomans can't say no to 😎👀 #puppydogeyes #bless #cutie #gimme #givemethenoms #food #starving #begging #nomnom #gsp #germanshorthairedpointer #germanpointer #gspoftheday #gspofinstagram #pointers #pointersonpoint #pointergram #pointer_feature #birddog #birddogsofinstagram #gundog #gundogsofinstagram #animaladdicts #dogsofinstagram

No matter if it’s the first time you’ve left your dog alone or the 500th time, all dogs give you those sad puppy eyes when they know you are leaving. While the eyes are cute as ever, they too make us a bit sad!
5. Sometimes they get too anxious

Can't blame this one on Quinn. Caught red handed! #guiltydog

Waiting is a hard thing to do, and some dogs take out their anxiety on anything they can find in the house! We know just how important it is to dog-proof the home before leaving. While we understand the anxiety, we wish dogs didn’t have to destroy the couch because we left home.
6. They have no one to play with

Seriously, who wants to play by themselves for hours on end? We feel horrible knowing our dogs have to entertain themselves for however long we are gone. We can only hope that there are enough toys to keep them happy until we return.
