If you recently adopted a new puppy, why not share the news with the whole world! On the PetSmart Charities website, you can post your puppy adoption story and upload a photo too.

Even if you didn’t adopt your furry friend from PetSmart, you can still post and share your adoption story. FYI, PetSmart also gives out coupon booklets to new puppy parents (yep, even if you didn’t adopt through them). They have some great high-value deals!

Yes, you read that right- a puppy shower! A puppy shower is much like a traditional baby shower- you send invitations, serve some food and play a game or two. Put a fun twist on it by making treats that both dogs and humans can eat, like these Very Berry Frozen Dog Treats!

You can find some more great ideas on throwing a puppy shower at Dogtime and Discovery Hub.

4. Have a gender reveal photo shoot

People have gender reveals all the time when it comes to babies, right? Well, consider a gender reveal photo shoot for your new puppy.

That is exactly what a couple from Warrensburg, Missouri did! People Magazine showcased their story in May of 2017.

5. Have your baby make the announcement

Having your baby announce the arrival of a new puppy is truly adorable and unique as well. Amazon features this adorable onesie for your baby to wear, which will certainly raise a question or two.

The onesie features the wording, “My Siblings Have Paws,” and come in sizes from newborn to 24 months.

6. Send a Custom pet announcement card

Shutterfly has a ton of cute baby announcements that could easily be turned into a new puppy announcement! These cards can be personalized with your puppy’s name, adoption or birth date and even a photo of your choosing.

You can also create and customize your new puppy announcement in your favorite photo editing program and save it as a digital file. Then, you can share your announcement in a number of ways, including posting to your Facebook page or sending out emails.

7. Say it with a flatlay

How much do you love this flatlay? Create a sign like the one in the picture above, then add in some dog treats and some cute extras (like grooming supplies or a fun dog collar) to bring the whole look together! Once you have the perfect photo, share it on social media or send it to friends and family!

8. Use a premade greeting card

If you want a quick and easy greeting card, or don’t have a picture of your pup to use yet, send a premade one! For example, if you’re adopting a new pitbull, you’ll love this super cute “Proud Pitbull Parent” card!

Okay, so this one really only works if you’re adopting a third (or 4th, etc) dog (which I’m actually this close to considering right now), but it is hilarious! I’m pretty sure my oldest dog would feel the same way if I brought home another puppy!

Hey, the more the merrier, right?

10. Make a donation in your puppy’s name

While this really works best for sharing the news with people who already know it, it’s still a great new puppy announcement idea. Make a donation to your favorite dog charity in your new pup’s name!

Most charities have an option to let you share the news once you donate. You can say something like “Fido just donated $10 to PetSmart Charities.” Your friends and family will wonder “who is Fido?” It’s subtle, but it’s also a great way to promote your favorite charity because it gets people thinking about it.

These are just a few of my favorite new puppy announcement ideas!

Get creative! You can turn pretty much any baby announcement into a puppy announcement with a little imagination.
